Fernella C. Walker

Fernella C. Walker was born in 1894 in DeWitty, Nebraska Charlotte and William P. Walker are her parents. Fernella learned early to ride a horse and handle a gun. Necessary skills for surviving in the Sandhills. Rattlesnakes were always lurking around as they took every opportunity to shoot wild game. Fernella married Charles Woodson and taught on the homestead she later moved to Horton, Nebraska. The last parcel of land on the DeWitty settlement was sold in 1993 by Pearl Woodson.
