Daddy Hannah

Daddy Hannah was a Barber in DeWitty, Nebraska, a black settlement. The families from Brownlee, Nebraska, an all-white town, came to Daddy Hannah's shop for haircuts. He also sold mules for a living people traveled miles to buy his mules. They say he had the largest home in DeWitty. Every August, Daddy Hannah would sponsor a summer festival for DeWitty the folks from Brownlee also attended the event. DeWitty was unique other parts of the country were having race riots DeWitty and Brownlee were at peace.​
